Action Replay is a disc used to load games with cheat codes applied, also inheriting functionality from the Freeloader. However, it is typically used by homebrew users to load SDLoad, which is loaded by applying a patch to the Action Replay disc itself.

Compatibility with Wii 3.0

When Nintendo released their 3.0 update for the Wii, they updated MIOS, which contains the GameCube IPL, to check for game ID GNHE, and if so, ensure the apploader has the expected behavior. Datel was able to work around this by simply changing the game ID to DTLX, but in the process, they left the following text in the header:

ACTION REPLAY

DTL=PRODUCT CODE X =MULTI REGION

Please do not exclude us from future revisions of the Wii firmware.
If you could please reinstate our previous products it would be a great help.
