The blue or red light on the wiikey doesnt come on at all? That switch you're using for eject doesnt look right. It needs to be a no/nc switch. Try holding the switch you have wired up in while the gc boots, then momentarily release it and press it again.

Also it looks like your ffc cable is upside down. The exposed pins should be facing down

Seriously...?
DAMN I soldered it 4 times now..
On to the fifth one...
So the pins gotta be facing down and I need to hold the switch while booting? I'll try it!

I think I saw those pics before...
:)

Hugo, maybe too late, but did you double check the connections, so that there are no bridges, etc.?
Does the gamecube turn on after all?

Thanks for the topic!

Yes the GC turns on and there are no bridges.
I'm currently soldering it again and, is that 1,9v necessary?

Okay, I soldered it again AND I mentioned that I also put the FFC in the.. WIIKEY upside down.
So, now the GC goes and, show the full intro and gives an error, and when I press ma button, it shows a little red light that goes
off when I release the button.

I don't have my day.

Just everything goes wrong today, so I'll leave this till tomorrow, gotta learn homework now for tomorrow's test (France...). :(
So, bye guys and thank you all for your help! I'm sure it's going to work tomorrow! :)

Hugo_Peters, if you've still got the pin headers soldered partially on the dvd connector on the gamecube mainboard, be sure to check for shorted connections, this was an issue for me in that I packed all the wires too close and then when bent down, they got stabbed with the pins that were still soldered in and I was getting some not so obvious shorts at first.

The Wiikey needs to be booted up with the pin 29 switch as not connected to GND, then quickly switch to GND.

Emu, I boot all my cubes with pin29 connected to ground at boot. After the cube spins up I can then activate the bootloader. I'm using a no/nc switch though.

Allright, think I did it right this time, but now:
I turn it on, I go to the disc screen, press the button and the blue light turns on, but turns off after I released the button.
When I hold it, it look likes it's not doing anything.
Sometimes the GC gets stuck at Reading disc... it doesn't crash, but there's just nothing happening...
Any ideas?

Sounds like you are close to having it working. Double check everything is hooked up proper and get the right type of switch ;P

I mailed Zen, and he said I could break open an old mouse, so I did that and I soldered the wires to one of the buttons.
I'm now connecting the ground pins and then it should work...

*** IT STILL DOESN'T DO ANYTHING...
I'm getting quite mad now...
I connected everything, just everything....
My sound stopped working too... Maybe it's an ground issue?

That means your internal sound trace broke, or 12 volt doesn't work anymore try supplieing it with 5 volt (high change sound gets dissortioned)

Did you remove the button from the mouse you used? If you wired it straight to the mouse, thats your problem.

Could I also break the traces of that button?

EDIT: Whatever I already have the plain button

I dunno man. If you have followed the megaguide: http://www.gc-forever.com/forums/viewto ... ?f=3&t=416 to a T and there is no misconnections or bridging I'm at a loss... what region and IPL revision is your cube? At this point if you have a Wii to test it on it may be best to hook your Wiikey up to that and make sure you haven't fried it.

Does it matter if I used Kynar wire?

I dont think it matters, generally the wire length should be as short as possible.
