Rasberry Pi legit or not, Garbage or good?

Hey need to ask this question, I know its probably stupid one, but I have 3 raspberry pi boards and all 3 will do less then nothing. I'm starting to believe this mod is just a hoax, what am I missing? I have a Helder wiring harness for my cube. I can do all steps except #1 I guess, not one of these PIs are able to be seen by any pc I have used.
