I just found out last night my Black Wii can't play DVD's though WiiMC
Is there a program to enable DVD Playback on my Wii?
I had plans to dump my Games then burn them on DVD-R to play

You most likely have the newer D3-2 drive in which Nintendo removed the debug commands that allowed hackers to read standard DVD disc's on it.

Nope, BUT you can get a compatible USB DVD Drive and play movies through WiiMC and Wii backups through uLoader but it won't work with GC backups since none of the apps are compatible with USB DVD drives.

My Wii is a 2008 model so I don't need that method but I show it works. The drive model is in the description, can be found on eBay from $30-$40 U.S. Wii backups are going to be dependent on uLoader as far as compatibility. I haven't tried ripping them this way so I don't know if that works. You can use the drive to rip them to your PC with the right program but you'll be waiting 2-3 hours.

Also, any DVD drive should work with WiiMC if your just going to watch movies.
