When this data is requested to be used, the DVD drive is commanded to read a designated disc offset length for ADPCM audio data which is converted within the DVD drive's hardware into PCM audio. This converted PCM audio is then relayed to the DSP to be resampled and mixed with any other audio which may be playing. The common practice of using multi-title discs required shrinking the physical length of the title which also broke 32kbyte alignment and resulted in DVD reads from an incorrect offset.
