There the best for gamecube games. You might want to stock up on them if your using full size discs always buy high quality like verbatim. Burn using imgburn on the slowest speed 1x-2x

Where did you buy them? How much did you pay? They are pretty expensive compared to full size DVDs. I wonder if buying full size DVDs and cutting them down to ~8 cm would work out. Did someone ever try this? I always thought of this but never actually tried it since I never got into homebrew and stuff until now. I dont have a full size case and I am not planning to buy one since they are more expensive then a stock gamecube...

Yes you can, people have done it. DVDs are burnt from the innermost burnable area towards the outer border so you can safely cut off unburnt areas. Some also do it to give their discs funky shapes.

And screw their spindle motors by creating an unbalanced disc...

True, but if you're careful it should work without problems.

Andre104623,

How do I burn at 1x or wx when ImgBurn says the slowest speed is 4x? Is there a way to force a slower speed?

The slow burning thing is bs. That was from the early days of GC disc burning, burning under the supported burn speed of the drive is a bad idea. Just burn at 4x since that is the speed listed for most 8cm discs. I've burned ~16 and at 4x and they all came out just fine :)

Will probably pick up another 20 discs just in case since the ones I've found now arr pretty good :D

I am getting 30 more ritek g04 mini DVD-R discs, and burn them at 2x with my old school windows 98/XP machine. I just don't like to cut any corners for old school burning.

Actually I wouldnt do that if I were you. Back in the xp days burners would often have buffering issues which would cause bad burns. This is part of the reason for the 1x burn recommendation for cube games which stems from that era. Modern burners/computers do not have these problems due to more ram and more cache being available.

Question: Are you getting those on ebay? Mind sharing where you are getting yours? I am getting mine from a uk seller

I would rather do 1x or 2x on XP to be absolutely safe on my Pioneer 111d burner. I am getting three 10-paks and 2 platinum wavebirds for $80 shipped from someone on another forum
