Re: Gamecube Digital AV to direct HDMI / VGA mod...
That thing is pure diamond right here! I didn't quite saw what was the FPGA on the dev board in the picture. Cyclone 3 I presume? I'm very interested in the reverse you did to decode the YCbCr bitstream coming from the GC. Is it somewhat close to the defined open standards? I was thinking of install...

Re: Gamecube Digital Audio Interface board - Using DIT4096
Well trace files for B012355 could be great but what I'd like a physical unit for is to write a simple GC program that would output different image patterns of simple RGB colors (liek 0xFF0000, 0x00FF00, 0x0000FF, 0xFFFFFF, 0x00000 and so on) just to check the digital output to the MX when I exactly...

Re: Gamecube Digital Audio Interface board - Using DIT4096
Thanks for the info, I was under the impression that there was no 5V source powerful enough to spare a few mA for this circuit, hence the 7805 regulator on the original design of this mod. Anyway I guess it'll offer a greater flexibility. I've seen the post about the sale on eBay of the MX chips. I ...

Gamecube Digital Audio Interface board - Using DIT4096
It's been a long time since I've been here. I took the time to design a breakout board for Digital Audio out on my Gamecube. It's the best A/V improvment I could do considering I couldn't get ahold of a B012355 chip to integrate YPbPr out on my Gamecube. If I could have the datasheet of this chip I ...

Re: Gamecube component cable
I think my position on this matter is already know. Internal mod at least for video output. I think there is enough space behind the disc drive for a custom shaped PCB. Maybe an optical addon could be external by adding an extension port to the main PCB. I might start designing such board just to ch...

Re: Gamecube component cable
Well megalomaniac, is it possible to get in line for preorder? I haven't been able to locate a trusty supply of MX chips and due to school I have to abandon my search. I planned on integrating the circuitry inside the GC case but your dongle seems to be a good idea. I read a couple of posts earlier ...

Alright. Dibs on a B012355CMPV-DOL and a TC9231N if you were to ever sell some of these.

Re: Gamecube component cable
Well keep me informed on your shipment. I had another lead but it turned out that th company could get ahold of my order because his supplier realized he was out of stock. Fortunately for me I wanted to cut my spendings but the police may have found the person who robbed my house. I say may because ...

Re: Happy 10th Anniversary For The Gamecube!
My best memories would be me and my friend gazing at the handle and telling ourself how cool Nintendo was to incorporate this awesome feature. The system was engineered to be portable. I would bring my Gamecube to his house and we would play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles with our GBAs. Later on h...

Re: my wii shuts off when the external hardrive is plug in
I don't know much about the Wii. From what I read, it sounded like your USB HDD was maybe shorting the +5V power rail. The Wii shutted down as a protective measure. You're saying you replaced the enclosure because the USB connector was damaged on it. Maybe that was the source of the short-circuit. I...

Re: Gamecube component cable
Hey megalomaniac. If I could not find any parts, and that will be probably the case, how much would you charge me for a set of chip? I'm talking about one B012355 and one TC9231N. I would like to get on with that PCB development thing I told you earlier. I live in Quebec, Canada. My postal code is J...

Re: Gamecube component cable
But does the Wii do as good a job at up scaling 480i and 480p as a Gamecube will? How about digital audio? Probably that the Wii is doing a great job with GC games with component cables for video. I doubt the Wii upscale GC games. I haven't heard anything about direct SP/DIF audio output other than...

Re: Gamecube component cable
Crap, got refunded by my contact... He said his supplier had an error in his inventory and does not carry anymore units. Back to searching. quick question...just remembered, did you confirm they were "MX" B012355, not "AD" B012355??? also, ask the seller if they have they might h...

Re: Gamecube component cable
Thanks for the input. I don't know if it's only my TV but every system I have looks better a first sight using component over S-Video. For example, I used to play my N64 using S-Video but I recently modded it to output RGBs. Using a cheap chinese RBG to VGA upscaler(GBS-8220, I have a NTSC TV theref...

Re: Gamecube component cable
Went ahead and ordered 10 chips. I doubt these will get here anytime soon with the holiday rush. Last year some packages I ordered about at the same date took more than 2 months to get from China to Qc, Canada. here are the component video connectors.. http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8653/img0217tp.j...

Re: Swiss on GC with Viper Extreme
Yeah did a similar setup. Just uploaded the .dol to the flash filesystem of the chip and my GC boot straight to file browser. All I have to do is press A when GC boots up. I wish there was a way to auto-start the dol executable on boot!

Re: Gamecube component cable
I will probably order like 10 of those. I'm half confident about these. I know that they are discontinued parts but my supplier recently sold me other discontinued MX chips which turned out to be genuine, brand new and perfectly working. The quote I received from him today is a little pricey, $10 US...

Re: Gamecube component cable
I might have access to a small supply of MX B012355 chips. I plan on internalize the circuit normally contained in the component cable and mount 3 phono jacks on the Gamecube itself for component out. Anyone knows where I could find the schematic for interfacing it? I haven't bought the chips yet bu...

Got it to compile and made it work! Wouldn't compile dol.c on my x86 linux system (Linux Mint 12) but it did with my Mac Os X (10.6.7). For everyone attempting this, you will need to replace the linker script in your devkitPPC install and also compile and overwrite de libfrag library, both provided ...

Also, on your release of Swiss, will you make a version especially for us Viper GC users? Thanks!

Re: Swiss on GC with Viper Extreme
My question is what do I exactly do with the 4 READpatch.s files I compile prior to the compiling of the executable? Do I overwrite the 4 SlotA-SD.s, SlotB-SD.s, SlotA-HDD.s and SlotB-HDD.s with the fresly 4 compiled ".s" files or do I open up those and copy the data array to the destinati...

Re: Swiss on GC with Viper Extreme
Hi, I've been trying to compile SWISS from SVN but the wiki instructions on googlecode are kinda not clear for me... I can build the READpatch.s file fine, it's what do I do with it that is not clear. Do I overwrite the corresponding ".s" file in the SWISS sources? Do I copy the data array...

Is your IPL on that GameCube really 1.0? I do have a spare GC with IPL 1.0 I would like to install a Wode. I just don't want to buy the device to realize it can't be installed.
Congrats on your success!

Re: Swiss on GC with Viper Extreme
So technically we could just take the uncompressed freshly compiled binary and compress it with dollz to make it work with the Viper GC.infact wrote:No.
It sounds too simple to work that way. There is probably a catch somewhere, or else it would have been done some time ago right?
