Re: Does retro gaming slang exist?

modern acronym: im pretty sure gz means gratz -> congrats. Thats a tough one as i think about it, slang is more of an evolution over time. So yes there very much is a difference. From a different time. If you were old enough back then and playing, what kinda stuff did you hear around. I heard stuff ...

Re: My GC stopped reading discs. What are my options now?

precisely one year later What emu said and your actual options are to get a service repair done for new disc drive capacitors and perhaps laser adjustment, though laser adj. is less necessary unless its the final approach. Theres youtubers who advertise their service thru videos of it being done or ...

I need blank DVDr panda disc

You guys know the panda discs everywhere that come with sd2sp2 chips and the like, well so far all the other branded dvds will not read on my gamecube likely due to aged capacitors, I tried laser adjustment and put it back on factory setting and the panda disc reads perfectly. Its the Only burned dv...

OEM gamecube controller; flimsy D-PAD fix (situational)

I bought a ratcheting screw driver with 20 bits, two being the triangles for like 9$ Note that the + screws inside are PH1's and not philips, so buy the screwdriver. Open up the controller and be gentle with the internals, wiggle around the wire exit to break it free. When you pull out the circuit b...

Re: Wii stuffed into a Gamecube case conjecture

While you can trim the MB, you can also patch the FW so you won't need the Wiimote to startup the thing, but it's quite useless as you'll end up loosing digital AV out, GBPlayer connectivity. To beef up the GC, just wait for some people are thinking about adding 16 or 32MB to the system. It may imp...

Re: Wii stuffed into a Gamecube case conjecture

One thing people might find hilarious that doesn't require destroying stuff is making a bigger-than-normal GameCube shell that would fit the Wii mobo. It'd give you a chance to make it an actual cube, not just an almost cube. hah, that image stayed in my head for a minute. Im not gona do that... ok...

Re: Wii stuffed into a Gamecube case conjecture

I always thought it was silly that the Wii requires a wiimote with batteries/sensor bar just to launch a GameCube game. Not going to take any of my consoles apart though, so I wish you luck. Someone measured the Wii motherboard size here: https://www.reddit.com/r/WiiHacks/comments/6v11x4/motherboar...

Wii stuffed into a Gamecube case conjecture

I see most of you guys making physical contributions and for now mine shall be conjecture. First I dont know the internals of the Wii and wonder; Is it possible to take apart a Wii and stuff the whole thing into a Gamecube? Since a Wii is basically an overclocked Gamecube from what I heard, how awes...
