I see. So it sounds like if this ever was made to work, it could do so at full speed from front SD but not from SD Gecko.
Thanks for your answer.

Re: Audio Streaming Plan
I find it very exciting that you are looking at this, even if at an exploratory stage. I don't really know anything about this, as will be obvious from the comments that follow, but isn't there an audio format that could achieve full playback speed at the expense of storage space? Video streams from...

Re: Swiss 0.1
Thanks for the info.
I've ordered an SD Gecko. Can't wait to start playing with it.

Re: Swiss 0.1
Thanks for the answer to my first question, elricorico. Anyone care to take a stab at these others? 2. What maximum SDHC card size is supported? 3. How do you use this with the Wii (once you have the SD Gecko)? 4. The comments here regarding audio streaming are not about making audio streams work on...
Re: Swiss 0.1
This is fantastic news! Quick questions to help get me set up: 1. Will this adapter works to load images thorugh and SDHC card using Swiss? Deal Extreme Item Link 2. What maximum SDHC card size is supported? 3. How do you use this with the Wii (once you have the SD Gecko)? 4. The comments here regar...

Re: Web store opening soon
Don't mind that question. I educated myself. According to WiiPower, it looks like audio streaming is a really hard nut to crack for soft-modded Wii's. Too bad I no longer have my copy of Eternal Darkness...

Re: Web store opening soon
That's the most minor issues I've ever seen. I usually have a disc in, anyway. The audio streaming wouldn't have anything to do with 32KB alignment, would it? I imagine the answer is "no" since it is too obvious, but just curious. I guess I'll sit back, relax and wait to see what SDBoot 1....

Re: Web store opening soon
You have my full interest, then  I'm surprised this is somewhat "flying under the radar" at GBATemp, when this could be the only solution to the disk-less GCN game loading issue. One more, if you will: Is compatibility currently limited by SDBoot or does it differ between the two me...

Re: Web store opening soon
I guess I'm confusing the two paths that have been considered here in the forums and whether they apply to the Wii: 1) Running GCN games from and SD card, using the SD Gecko: it seems like this is already possible to some extent and, with time, could turn into a very compatible solution. This would ...

Re: Web store opening soon
Terrible news!
Well, that makes the answer to my question even more relevant:
Could there be an SD (through Gecko) to hard drive adapter for the Wii?

Re: Web store opening soon
Alas, there is currently no way to launch Gamecube games from USB, because, when the Wii goes into Gamecube mode, it disables the USB ports. There are some inroads in this as of recently (DIOS-MIOS), but it will be a long time before it is as refined as the existing Wii game USB loaders. Loading fro...

Helllo.
To echo another poster's question, will this work on the Wii as well?
Thanks.

Re: SD-boot tutorial for Wii
I thought it was Gamecube specific because of the comment on the first page about it being built to plug into the serial port. However, I did not read the whole thread, so I'm sure I missed some of the details.

Hmm...
Very interesting.
I'm sure some enterprising individuals will eventually find out how to do something like that for the Wii.

Re: SD-boot tutorial for Wii
I've been wondering, could some sort of adapter be used from USB to SD Card (opposite from commonly available adapters), to give the Wii access to a USB hard drive through the SD card in the SD Gecko? Imagine a little dongle from the SD Gecko to a nearby hard drive. If this were possible and the loa...
