Re: SD card not booting
Thanks for the reply. I have formatted it to fat 32 many times now. Is there any special settings I need? I just leave default settings each time I try.

SD card not booting
Hi guys. Got a 4GB SD card here that boots games OK with my SD Geko. I recently got myself a nice fast 128GB SD card but it doesn't seem to want to load. I was told that the size limitations were no longer an issue before I ordered it. Trying to boot with Swiss DVD.
Any ideas?
Chris.

Re: Swiss? Best way to store ISO's?
Thanks for the reply. I read that the size limit is 4GB on SD cards for Gamecube, is that not true?

Swiss? Best way to store ISO's?
Hi all. I got Swiss up and running with an SD Geko and it works OK but the 4GB restriction is annoying. Sometimes my games will just hang too, not sure if that is a defective SD Geko or what, as I did have to wiggle it to get it to see my ISO's at all. I see people using IDE drives with adapters to ...

Re: Swiss and SD Gecko
This is what I see when Swiss loads. But when I select the SD card nothing happens, the rectangle where I select SD card, DVD etc flashes away for a second, then comes back.
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Swiss and SD Gecko
Thanks for the reply. Yes I did that. I also changed the speed, or whatever the other option was called. The only files on my SD card are the games, nothing else. Think my swiss is r337? 0.4? Perhaps there is more to it than simply hitting "B" once it's loaded, then hitting the eject symbo...

Swiss and SD Gecko
Hi. I have successfully burned Swiss to a DVD and it boots on my console. I took my SD card (FAT 32) and put an ISO and a GCM file at the root. When I select the SD option in Swiss it just flashes and doesn't work.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks.

Re: Burning discs?
Yes I'm in the EU. I found some TDK discs that were very cheap. Looking at the digitalfaq site suggests TDK branded discs are class 1 so I guess I'll see what happens.

Re: Burning discs?
Thanks for the reply. I think I'll try new media then if that fails, a new burner. The problem is I'm struggling to find media that is on the list here... http://club.myce.com/f33/gamecube-blank-dvd-media-229874/ I can search for brands but I have no idea what the MID is until they arrive. Any sugge...

Hi, thanks for the reply. No I did burn it correctly. Here is what I see when looking at one of my "successful" burn attempts.
Thanks,

Burning discs?
Hi all. I've used image burn to write the Swiss ISO to a disc. The discs I'm using are "MediaRange". When the burn finishes successfully I try it in my cube (Xeno) but it cant read it. My pot is adjusted below 150 ohms. Perhaps worth mentioning is that my PC sees the DVD disc as a CDROM af...

Re: Swiss Confusion
Hi thanks for the reply. I've seen that but I'm not sure it answers my questions. The main reason I want swiss is to force 480p. Now if I have to load this disk each time I power cycle my console, that's inconvenient. Maybe it stores something on an SD card that would force 480p for me all the time?...

Swiss Confusion
Hi all. I've heard that Swiss is useful with a ton of awesome options, but I'm not sure what exactly it is. Does it integrate into the standard GC options? Is it something you have to boot from a disc with each power cycle? Does it live on an SD card? My GC has one of the xeno modchips installed and...

Re: DIY component cables?
Has no one managed to reverse engineer what's on that chip? From what I understand you can't just take a dump of what's on there because they are protected against that.

DIY component cables?
Hello. Does anyone know of someone that has successfully made their own component cable?
When I google it I see a few pictures of what could be DIY solutions but I cant find any info.
Any input is appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris.

Burning Swiss DVD?
Hello. After looking online for an answer, I couldn't find anything definitive on this.
Do I just write the .ISO to a DVD or do I have to do anything else first? I have a XenoGC installed and I want to boot games from my SD card.
Cheers,
Chris.

Re: Which chip to get?
The sound issues you are concerned about only affect a few titles http://www.gc-forever.com/wiki/index.php?title=Audio_Streaming Currently the only method for full compatibility with these titles is with the DVD drive The WKF/WASP sd slot can be internal or external to the GC...your choice how to m...

Re: Which chip to get?
XenoGC needs you to press a button to boot its menu. By itself it has no SD support so you need a Swiss DVD + SD gecko. Qoob auto boots to its menu with empty drive. It leaves you the option of booting to the regular BIOS if you need to. Once again no SD support built in, but you can flash Swiss on...

Re: Which chip to get?
Thanks for all the helpful replies. It seems that I have to decide between the Qoob Pro, Wii Key Fusion and the XenoGC. I still have questions though. -Will all of these boot games on an SD card? (autodetect?) -Are there SD card size limitations with any of these chips? -Do they all boot to their ow...

Re: Which chip to get?
I would say Qoob Pro Thanks for the reply. With that chip would the GC always boot up to the Qoob screen or would I need to hold a button on start up to enter that? Then would I just browse an SD card with the game ISO's on it and hit play? I have had a look on the internet but I cant find much on ...

Which chip to get?
Hello. I recently bought myself another Gamecube and was shocked at the prices some of the games sell for (regret selling my old ones!). Whilst I'd like to get as many original games as possible, that isn't going to happen over night. In the meantime I'd like to just download them off the internet a...
