would it be possible to patch or install anything to the GC memory like Bootmii on wii installs before the nand.
maybe install something on GC memory that will run before GC IPL so it patch it or something so it will run Backups without a modship.
for people that use SDML and don´t have to start the SDML everytime. so it at startup loads up GCOS or Swiss. Like the softmod on Wii.

This is actually something I was wondering too. Is the GC-memory even rewritable at all? Assuming we'd try it in every possible way (soldering etc.).
And how about the encryption? Any private keys we need to theoretically encrypt the 'new' IPL?

I think that is not possible. The IPL is stored in a ROM, it cant be re-writen

Maybe if it was desoldered from the main board.
I don't think that would terribly efficient.

Honestly with a 7 wire install for Viper or qoob, I can't see too much work being put into such a project.

not even 7 for a viper, just 4

I'll be and here I am not having even thought of buying the Viper. I'm going to have to buy one now.
