Just set game's general video mode to 480p, and SWISS's video mode to 50Hz so you can get back to SWISS with IGR before shutting off your console, if you use ShineHax to load SWISS.
NB: There seems to have issues with IGR on last releases, so it may not work until next update.

For me igr works great, only few games of my few swiss games crash on igr... as example, Luigi's Mansion, RE2 and RE3... Majority works on latest version for me.These games crashed as well on old versions.

For the latest r1712 release, what does "Replace igr.dol solution with Swiss as apploader" mean?
Under the IGR folder I see swiss > patches > apploader.img.
Do I place apploader.img in my SD card and delete igr.dol?

thanks for triggering my attention - I just tried it - what can we say? mister extrems did it again
a game like Luigi s Mansion which froze upon igr now perfectly resets to swiss

no idea what extrems did but it seems no longer to need igr.dol but it loads apploader.img from the patch folder which is auto created upon booting swiss/game
he fixed the final annoyance

It's not automatically created and is a leftover from previous versions. You need the new file.

I see, the file is indeed in your zip archive. Very strange, it worked with the existing file from prior release as well.
I do not have many games, only 60, but the 2 problematic ones igr wise are both resolved

Just noticed 1 bug (I think). When exiting swiss via lower right button, it goes to default gamecube menu. All fine. But when i then select my game disc to boot save game exploit it first crashes the cube. 2nd attempt works though. This worked properly in the prior releases.

is this related by "avoid PAL-M in early boot when using digital AV" commit ?

I have swiss and my main games on sd gecko in slot B. Recently added some games on a sd2ps but want these hidden for the boy. Why swiss (loaded from sd gecko slot B) will by default visualize the games stored on the sd2ps? I want this the opposite way, swiss should show the games on the slot B sd gecko by default and manually I will show the ones on the sd2ps. Can I configure swiss like this? thanks

You can set any directory as autoload by pressing Z on the ".." file entry. File management has to be enabled.

can some one test Peter Jackson's King Kong on latest swiss? US version crashes on 2nd level, PAL version even on 1st level after loading intro movie

latest swiss version 1730 still crashes when you quit swiss to the cube main menu via the lower right menu option and next run a savegame exploit again. once the savegame exploit would have to start swiss it crashes the cube. next time booting (2nd attenmpting) always works...
Its the same crash like when running a non working cheat. It shuts down the cube with like something incorrectly set. 2nd boot does work. The shutdown worked perfectly before the new igr was added. But the igr works flawless now. Its just the normal quitting to gamecube OS which seems to have a bug.
Someone with PAL cube and savegame exploit can reproduce? Or I need to make a video and upload it?
edit: and the cheats being saved is a huge efficiency gain in user experience, thanks a lot

Hi. New here, and new with my modded GameCube. How do I know if my SWISS is updated all the way? And also, if it's not. How do I update it without messing anything up.

SWISS's version number is displayed in the first screen, check if it's the right version when getting back to SWISS from a game.
You didn't gave us details of the mod so we can't guess if your chip has to be updated with the last version, and which way.

All you have to do is put SWISS.dol as ipl dol at the root of your sd card, and add the igr file in the right folder. (See about apploader.img earlier in this thread).

Question, double disc games, swiss perfectly plays these by only starting from 1st disc and auto switching to 2nd disc ingame. Can we hide the 2nd disc iso to not have these show up in the swiss menu but still play the full game with the 1st disc auto switching to the hidden 2nd disc? Same like we hide ipl.dol in root of our sd card. It could be a simple workaround to have a less cluttered game overview

Why not get a stickie somewhere to confirm the second disc is present, and valid.

Yes, like an icon shown for missing 2nd disc only... but this will require more coding than just allowing to hide 2nd disc. I am fine with both, just want 2nd discs be hidden without losing game compatibility

Ok, decided to test it this weekend with Goldeneye Rogue Agent. Hid 2nd disk and now speedrunning through the game with cheats. Will confirm back

Other minor cosmetic enhancement request

I play the zelda collector's N64 games directly from the tgc files instead of the iso. Not sure if biased, but feels it plays smoother as tgc. The tgc files show up with a "No Banner" logo which is hurting my eyes when many tgc files are shown in a list

would it be possible to add a nice transparent logo like the one used for dol files? It could in fact be the same logo with the NGC cube logo and just DOL replaced into TGC?

the transparent background of the DOL banner is fitting way better with the nice swiss background art
For the rest, I can only say, swiss is reaching the state of perfection

unseen that back in the early 2000s i had to burn dvd for my viper modded gamecube

our cubes will never die

it is du jamais vu how nice swiss became over the years - lots of appreciation to extrems and emukidid! Would like to be able to code like you both! Just to say, appreciate a lot your passion and work!
