Kemosabe, try r24 to resolve the file deletion issue.

to switch discs, read the first post where it talks about using 2 disc games.

I know how to switch discs with Swiss (I've tried it and it seems to work just fine). I was asking about SDbot, in case there's some game I absolutely can't play with Swiss. I'll try r24 when I get home and I'll post the results.

I tested a few more games yesterday:
- Baldur's Gate PAL - WORKS, there's no improvement over SDboot, it has the same sound glitches but it's perfectly playable.
- Baten Kaitos - WORKS, it's slightly worse than SDboot. Sound glitches during FMV, ocasional glitches and slowdowns during game, but not in battle, especially in the map screen. There's no music during battles (I have music with SDboot)

Ok, my black screen issues are fixed now, but i don't see which change did it. I fear that the error is related to something else and might appear again eventually.

About Baten Kaitos, can you report back if you actually played it instead of just testing? I wouldn't be surprised if it gets random freezes after ~10-30 min into gameplay. Just based on my experience with NeoGamma.

I played about 15min or so, did a few battles.
To solve your black screen issues did you need to select 16mhz, Or is 32mhz fine? I still need to test the new rev24 as soon as I have some time.

Did work with 32mhz right away. But i really don't understand why it does work now.

Rev24 fixed the black screen issue!
Thanks emu_kidid! There's still one problem, most of my SD Cards only work when I select 16Mhz.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Not that i know of. What cards do you have? And which ones only work with 16mhz, which do work with 32mhz?

Somebody knows a good tool for speed tests on sd cards? To me it looks like it could be speed related if 32 or 16mhz will work, which sounds really bad to me.

R24 fixed all of the black screen issues for me. Everything is working fine in 32mhz.
Thanks emu_kidid :D

Great!

Tomorrow I will try Zelda Four Swords Advanture (Japan).
May the Tetra's Tracker (Navi's Tracker) works with the Swiss loader.

I think this will be quite a milepoint. :)

SD cards are not supposed to run at 32mhz, that's the whole issue with only some working. They're meant to work at a clock rate of 25mhz, and we're lucky that the "32mhz" the GC provides is really only around 27mhz, so it just works.

There's some that work at 50mhz too, but that's not going to help here.

Interesting.
Also, black screen issues are fixed for me too in this revision. :D

Edit:
Something I noticed is that in Swiss, when a game needs to load a bit longer than usual, you get some low annoying 'beeps'. Where in SD boot you get sound interruptions (which are more convenient, imho).
Testing this with Mario Party, btw.

Still, this is just a (very) small thing I noticed, other than that, it's working great! Thanks again! :D

Edit2: Nevermind, has to do with some other things I guess, or maybe because my gamecube is now actually hooked up to my receiver, and I didn't hear it before. Don't mind this post. :p

just ran some first tests with the IDE to EXI and a very old WD100BA (June 2000) and that might be already the reason why no game worked :D

liquitt, legacy support for those old monsters would probably work best on the original loader that was posted ages ago.

No. This happens in my GC too, it's not your receiver. I think emu_kidid will look at this in the future.

Swiss doesn't have the code yet to pause audio to avoid bleeps and stutter - I will add it in shortly :)

128gb SDHC from Lexar :P

Oh right, I haven't been home all day so I haven't had the chance to try r24 until just now.
REmake NTSC - no longer black screens for me, it boots and plays really well. ;)

turnerl, that's an SDXC card. I need to add support for those I think (hopefully they still have the SPI mode) :)

But you would have had OVER 9000 BLOCKS

Hey, on a serious note, why is fragmentation an issue? Is there only partial support for FAT/32?

he does anyone can upload the r24 of swiss? it seems that on google the file got deleted.

by the way I have used the r2 till now and it works everything without problems from sd card but I wasnt able to install any game. everytime there came an error that the amount of free space could be detected.

I just can test sd support because my hdd adapter hasnt arrived till now.
