New in svn revision 21:
- Re-added device speed selection
- Simplify Video forcing/patching (less green screen boot)
- Fixed pre-patched image check
- Fixed cheats scrolling being too fast
- Cheats file now should be placed in device root:\cheats.qch

also.

Using cheats:
Cheats are stored in a Qoob based file format, they may be edited/updated
using the included cheats editor. You may convert action replay codes using
GCNCrypt and then add those too.
Swiss comes with a embedded cheats database but if you have an updated one,
place it as device:\cheats.qch and it will picked up and loaded instead of
the internal cheats database.
teeesting. 8-)

Soon I'll be posting my working games list again.

R21 doesn't fix any of the black screen issues for me. I'm still getting black screens no matter what.

WiiPower wrote:No luck. But something else, i don't understand the start sector value. It says it's 824256 on my 2 GB sd card with the 1.4 GB .iso. According to my math the file starts at 1.5x GB, which doesn't make any sense. And it is able to load the banner and patch the read.
That would be 824256 * 512 = 422,019,072bytes so your iso starts at 422mb on the disk. I still think your issues are fragmentation. The code in swiss is not the read code ingame - the ingame code has no idea about FAT/etc yet.

The old SD Boot, does it work the same way, or does it have FAT code? I'm asking because that's able to play Wind Waker for me.

HoTep wrote:Dear emu kiddid

I have a Question: At Swiss startup i can not choose the Speed how it was in sd-boot 0.4.
An Example: in sd-boot at start up i can choose 16 mhz or 32 mhz and Slot A or B. Paper mario in sd-boot works for me with 16 mhz but not with 32 mhz. And in swiss its always for me at 32 mhz . In sd-boot Paper mario at 32 mhz gives me Black Screen, 16 mhz it works.

I use a Pal Wii softmodded.

Or is in swiss an option to switch between 16 or 32 mhz ?

Sorry for my bad English and thanks for all the fantastic Projects !
Paper Mario PAL (german) is working fine here!
I've used a selfmade rip and tested the fullsize iso, a shrunk iso and a shrunk-fstfix-ed iso all at 32 mhz with Swiss 0.1 R7. I used a gc and 8gb sdhc.

Although I need to burn the newest revision, and test with this... cause R7 is somewhat outdated... :D

cheers

So, I'm using SDload as loader for Swiss, which is currently restricted to FAT filesystems..
Is Swiss compatible with FAT? Or is it FAT32 only?

With my current results, Swiss manages to see my SD card, and the games on it, but I get a black screen on every boot.
Games I've tried:
Mario kart: Double Dash!! NTSC
Mario Party 4 NTSC (shrunk)
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker NTSC.

I have a PAL cube, and toyed around a bit with the video mode forcing, and the Mhz (16/32, both black screen).

Thanks again for all the work emu_kidid. :)

Darkmystery, it's FAT16/FAT32 compatible. I'm looking into the black screen issues with Wiipower's testing help now - I've gotta sort this bug out :)

Sometimes whilst leaving the disc spinning at the menu it stops the disc and it can't be re-mouted by choosing DVD Disc from device.

Great job, emu_kidid! :D

I have a problem though:

Everytime I try to boot a game I simply get an "Error: OK"-message.

Does anyone know what's causing this?

Hi Cethy,
it would be interesting to know, what revision of swiss you are using, if you try it with a gc or wii... etc.

regards,
ct_the_1

edit: and the device you are using (ide-exi, sdgekko...)
edit2: emu_kidid was faster :-)

I'm using the same boot method (sdload --> swiss) and have the same problem. Black screen on all games I've tried.
Doubt it's a fragmentation issue, I only put on one game at a time and format between every transfer.

Oh, of course! Sorry!

I'm using an SD Gecko on a Wii, with Swiss r7 (haven't gotten the chance to update yet).
The card is a MicroSD with an adapter, which used to work with SD-Boot...

same here (but you already know). 2 different brands of sd cards, only swiss and a game iso on there and formatted between different tries. none worked yet. it reads the banner, says it's patched and ..... black :D

on a sidenote: if i try to "install" to the SD card swiss says it can't get the free amount of space from that sd card

Resident Evil Zero NTSC now works here! :D
Some slowdowns but nothing major

The CGs are perfect, no slows. :o Why some games plays cgs perfect while other have some slows?

It all depends on the quality / data rate that they require.

Thanks for the reply. :)
I tested out the same games on SD Boot 0.4rev4 if I'm correct, and they are working fine there, when using the same method to load them.

Same here, formatting every time when putting on a game. And since the games work in SD boot 0.4, it's certainly not fragmentation.

New in svn revision 24:
- Extreme WIP version
- Fragmented files detection (no support for them yet)
- Disabled disc dumper until I tidy up the code/fix it
- Disabled Qoob Cheats loading until I fix that too
- Removed ELMchan FATFS in favour of libFAT
- Simplified IDE-EXI code to use a 32bit sector addr (2TB Max)

Cethy, I used to get that exact same error. The solution is simple: before booting any game, put an original Gamecube disc in the drive. Do not use the SD Media Launcher disc or anything of the sort.

Again, this sort of questions could be avoided if emu_kidid would only put the instructions on how to boot games in the first post. Also, you're doing an amazing job, emu_kidid, you're stomping bugs at a fantastic rate! Keep up the excellent work!

PS: This new rev sounds like it's pretty unstable, I'm going to stick to rev 21 for now.

Ok, I think I have a serious bug here when trying to run Tales of Symphonia NTSC.

I have a PAL Wii and I'm using "Wii Swiss Booter", by Wiipower, to boot swiss. This is what happens:
- The game boots fine. I chose the option "New Game".
- The intro video runs with sound glitches (same as SDboot)
- After the video ends it goes to a black screen
- I loaded the game with SDboot and saved right at the beginning.
- I ran Swiss again and loaded the savegame.
- It loaded fine and I got into the game. In-game, when I go out of the screen where I'm currently at it goes to a black screen again! (The music keeps playing)
- Since I can't do anything I have to reset the wii. When I restart, the game iso is deleted (it's there with the same name but only 1kb size)!

This happened 3 times already, and I had to re-format and copy the game again since the files got fragmented!
I tested with all versions of Swiss (except revision 24) and a version by Wiipower (which is the only one that shows "DVD seek patchable), I got the same problem with all of them.

PS: Is there any way to switch discs, on a game like tales of symphonia, using SD boot?
