Open Source Modchip like Wiishkas for GC

Post by usuariox » Wed May 05, 2010 5:44 pm

Is posible to code a Modchip to use a PIC to emulate the functions of XENO GC?

1. find out whats on the XenoGC
2. rewrite it
3. flash it
4. solder it to the same points

O_o
please search before you ask - a lot has been discussed already!

It would be far better to take a modchip like YAOSM and make it work for GC. It's VERY similar, just code changes.

in this case there is no way i promise. there were some people in the past who also want to do this and nobody has get it to work because of the lockbits. you can read the atmega8l of the xeno gc but you just get a rubbish image.

well, maybe.

anyway. it's well known what has to be on a drivechip like DuoQ ad XenoGC to achieve what they're doing

no trust me there is no way. i have some experience with programming atmega µC. When the lockbits are set you will never be able to read out a µC again. If you reset the lockbits the whole µC geta erased. You have no chance to get on the hex file.

You can flash wiikey modchips with XenoGC hex, I've seen it done before.

The best thing to do would be a GC version of something like yaosm.

Yeah I've been meaning to try that.. it looks like you can flash a wiikey (or super cheap wiikey clone with XenoGC code).

I'm not a hardware expert but that's not very useful without knowing the fuse bits to set. The reason I assume it works on a reflashed wiikey is that it has the fuse bits already pre-set the same as the XenoGC does.
