~ The Homeland Project ~
Maybe you heard about Homeland...
I sure did and when i played it once i was even more angry, that there'd never ever be a release outside of Japan.
This project is about 1. translate the game into english and 2. set up a free server for everyone to play.
Any volunteers (Japanese/English-experts, people that know about files on GC discs or people that think they can help in general) are welcome!!
People who played this game know why it's worth the translation!
Some ressources:

Looks awesome man. I'd love to help any way I can if possible. Though I don't have any of the requested skills... If there's anything I can contribute let me know!
Re: ~ The Homeland Project ~
Seems awesome. Any idea if there are already server sources/binaries created for this?

Re: ~ The Homeland Project ~
Well I'm not able to do any of the translations but I'd be happy to help in any way I can. I'll find a copy of this game and take a look at the file system and extracting the dol so we can take a look at it.
Re: ~ The Homeland Project ~
You have my support on this, let me know if you need anything - I'll start messing around with it when I get a moment.
Re: ~ The Homeland Project ~
I wish I would've learnt more kanji... if there's simple hira/kata translation to be done, I'd be glad to help. I only noticed this game last week, and also am disgusted this one hasn't gotten any Western release. (although I must say the cover art is FAR more pretty than the game itself, and it seems that it's a really weird RPG to me *read: dull*)

Re: ~ The Homeland Project ~
you could always try a japanese to english translator online: http://translate.google.com/#ja|en|
seems you will have to install support for the japanese language on your computer though

STEP 1 - DISASSEMBLING
so, unpack/disassemble/extract/whatever the .rel, .ldr, .dol and .bin files will be the first step.

Re: ~ The Homeland Project ~
yeah i usually try a few different translators because they give different answers and then you might just have to give your best guess as to what it meansliquitt wrote: sure thing....but the japanese translations via google seem to be veeeeeery off most of the time, but we'll see

Re: ~ The Homeland Project ~
Disecting the game may be trouble though I'd bet you'll find most of what we are trying to in the all.bin file located in the root directory. It's the only place I can think to check at the moment... I'm going to look through the files a little better later.

Re: ~ The Homeland Project ~
Yup. anyone any good at disecting a bin file? I'm looking through the file with a hex editor... Unfortunately without knowing what I'm looking for It's kind of pointless.
Re: ~ The Homeland Project ~
Doesn't this game have dialog files like PMTTYD?
