Little update on this.

Got all the DVD drives ripped out of the GC's I received and successfully de-soldered all the Male connectors. Just waiting on the rest of the parts to arrive, Some are coming from china, etc. So it might be a week or two. Thats ok though because I really need to focus on getting the 2nd GCFusion done in the next week or so. After that I'll be all cleared up to devote some time to putting these together when all the stuff arrives. I need to find a few free moments to make the list of people interested up in this thread. I'll actually have more than 15 available in the first batch as some generous people have mailed me some connectors :D I'll try and get the list up tonight.

Figured up the list of people who have stated interest in buying these so far. Below is the list stated in the order of posting in this thread.

1. sm4rty
2. Darkmystery
3. wii_HD
4. emu_kidid
5. Hells Guardian
6. liquitt
7. Jaecus
8. Hucklebuck
9. gtmtnbiker
10. andzlay
11. yamaharacer
12. streetuff
13. siphoned
14. rockslayer
15. jmjohnson85
16. Keiko
17. shinebi
18. epoch
19. Bigjake52
20. plasticrelic
21. mautheus

If I missed you somehow and you should be on this list please let me know so I can add you in the proper spot. Also if you stated interest and now are not interested anymore please let me know so I can remove you from the list.

Also, I've figured up what I think is a reasonable trade for the connectors if you would like to send some my way. I can knock 6$ off the final adapter price for each GC DVD male connector you send me and 2$ for each Wiikey FFC cable if you have any of those. If you'd like to send some my way please PM me for details.

Still waiting on shipments and such. Might be a few weeks still.

Edit: Updated a few people I missed. Also I forgot to mention, since people have been sending me connectors and such everyone on the list above should receive an adapter from the first batch!

Had to register just to get in on this. Let me know if there is a spot for me in line. Do not have any extra drives but do have some motherboards and cases if you are interested. Thanks!

A good point was brought up to me in PM that I had failed to think of, so I'll mention it here.

If you are going to be using a WODE with this adapter you will still need to connect the power to the WODE from the GC's regulator yourself. There is just no good way for me to do it for you unfortunately.

If you will be using a Wiikey Fusion you don't need to worry about this. Everything for the Wiikey will be powered by the DVD connector.

No problem. I'll be going for the economic Wiikey solution anyway. 8-)

Actually you only will have to solder 3 wires and you wont have to solder directly to the wode. Ill post more on this when I get home tonight.

Ashen, here's what I'll be sending:
4x GC DVD connectors
4x Wii DVD power cables (can be cut to make 8 perhaps depending how short you want them)
6x Wii DVD Flex cables

Awesome emu, Thank you. The drive power connectors will definitely help the people who want this for WODE. This way I can set up the power connector for them and all they have to do is solder the ground, 3.3v and 5v connection to the regulator. 12v is unneeded so it'll only be 3 wires, I figure most people should be able to handle that. :D

The WODE works off 3.3v just like the wiikey. The 5v line is only needed for a USB hardrive and the backlighting if the slave lcd panel. If you wire pin 32 on the WODE to the middle chip of the regulator you don't even need to connect the left power cable.

then all you need to do is power the usb hdd with 5v. Nothing needs to be looped with the wode chip itself. As only the slave panel needs 5v for the backlight and usb port. The connector on the wode is only a passthrough except for the 3.3v line which I have shown in the pic how to send to the wode without the connector.

Hmmm... Being that I don't have a WODE yet I'm a bit confused. If the Wii DVD drive power cable is not powering the 5v for the USB HDD then how does the USB HDD get power?

Oke let me explain.

The wode slave board has a extra usb power cable that you connect to the back of the wii. That's the 5v line used for the usb connector and backlight of the lcd. The funny thing is the backlight doesn't work of 5v it works of 3.3v. There is a little regulator that converts the 5v to 3.3v. I assume that they didin't have enough pins on the flat cable from wode mainboard.

So the wii dvd power cable is only a passthrough except for the 3.3v line which as I stated before can be bridges with pin 32 from the host connector.
