Force Widescreen?

Hi there!! :D

So I was wondering, would there be a way to force widescreen mode on the cube, just like that Dolphin option? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RzjK3uu84Q)

I mean, I have a rather little collection of GC games, but one of them is Zelda Twilight, and as I also have that Component Cable, I sometimes wonder whether or not it would be possible to make a real cube do that Dolphin does, forcing widescreen, through homebrew perhaps? What do you think? I have been told that the cube, due to its specs, wouldn't handle it...

I hear it may be possible - if it is, you'll see it in Swiss one day ;)

Imagine a cube with a component cable running Twilight Princess (that is already gorgeous in 4:3 streched) in 16:9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............ (sorry for the excitement) LOL

But you think the cube could handle it? Well I don't care, even if it lags, I just wanna try and see it!!
It's because... Twilight already looks great with the component, imagine in forced 16:9, like those Dolphin HD videos on youtube...

Yeah, sorry, I chose the wrong link lool this one is just stretched yeah, so that's basically what I achieve right now on my television.

Sometimes that looks really awful! Specially after 2:30 :(

It has some bugs yeah, but I believe it depends on the game. Besides, overall it looks great! Don't you think? Check out that resolution! Imagine that on an LCD TV with a component cable!!!!!!! That is what excites me lol

How is it possible to force 16:9 when a Gamecube game was produced in 4:3? Or wasn't it?

i guess it's just possible in an emulator :/

Waaait a minute!! Something tells me that was taken from Dolphin! Unless emu_kidid has already added the 'force widescreen' mode to Swiss...

This is just amazing! I'm interested in exactly how this hack works though, exactly how are we taking a game that was made for 4:3 and making it display a proper 16:9? Do all games work with this or just certain ones?
