The NTSC version officially supports 480p. If that helps.
I'm not familiar with how Swiss handles booting games with multiple DOLs.
Try setting Swiss to force 480p, then run the game in the original way (without selecting a DOL).

Re: Burning discs for Xeno GC Mod
Although Nintendo never made official dl discs for the Gamecube, I haven't heard much about trying to read at least the first layer of one.

That sounds right, I don't think the Gamecube hardware can interact with the Game Boy Player hardware to identify the layers.

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
It seems to me that an unusual, exceptionally large, number of panasonic q's were modded. So many that it's almost become hazy whether or not they were official in some sense.

Re: Trying to install Swiss and GBI, but all I have are SDHC cards
Nintendo introduced SDHC support for Wii games in 2009. Years after the Gamecube SD adapter was released.
Still, yeah, Gamecube software can use SDHC if written to do so.

Re: Game Boy Interface
There is a way to configure the settings from a computer and then making it an autoboot file, or burning it to a regular memory card. Mine is inside of a modified Windwaker save on a regular 59 block memory card, which boots directly to GBI after pressing start after the game disk loads. An additio...

Re: Game Boy Interface
But that's not practical in its current state (no GUI for configuration) and no one outside of the GBI crowd actually wants to run any homebrew from a disc, because there's no good reason to do that. SD adapters are cheap and easy to use, and as long as you can boot into Swiss, you can have any set...

Re: Game Boy Interface
I finally broke down and used my Wii to install the file onto my GC Memory Card, but I'm not pleased about it. It may be a minor quibble to you, but when I power on my GC to play a GB, GBC, or GBA game, it actually ANNOYS me to search through a Swiss menu to load up GBI. You don't have to use Swiss...

Re: Game Boy Interface
An SD adapter costs like $3.
Unless I'm mistaken, the issue with burning GBI by itself to a disc is that the console can't pass parameters to it.

Has there been any mockup what an acceptable housing might look like, to internally install a Wii disc drive into a Gamecube?

Re: Newbie PAL Gamecube questions. Please help!
Swiss has better compatibility than other ways of forcing video modes.
I'm not familiar with which games are PAL optimized.
In my experience, it's not just PAL. People take for granted how many NTSC games also have to be forced for 480p.

Re: DVD Drive Emulator Question
Isn't there a handful of games best played on DVD?
I thought SD cards, IDE adapters, or anything else, each have their share of finicky titles.
Anyhow, faster load times will be wonderful.

Re: Black and white video
No you can't do that, it's not worth it at all when you can just get a PAL unit or use GCvideo. The easiest you can do is get a PAL-N TV. Why you would want to run games in 50 Hz in the first place is beyond me. Well you made it sound like a PAL-N to PAL decoder exists. But that's way off topic. Ju...

Any mockups what this might look like? If bold enough to "internally" install a Wii drive in a GC... it'd look strange to say the least.

Re: Black and white video
Sounds like your region switch is wired either wrong or shorting. The switch is unnecessary with a XENO anyways as it makes the GC region free. I recommend removing the region switch and retesting. One caveat is Xeno doesn't switch system language. Swiss settings can help the fussy games, or of cou...

If you have a modchip, the game should play automatically when booting the system without the need for homebrew.

Thanks for the answer, i'll report It immediatly. However i use a japanese Memory card (on a jap gamecube with Ntsc-U region mod), now i try with another Memory card and hope It function normally. Normally the memory card region is decided by the console, not the game. You should swap memory card e...
