new version released, please confirm if freezing issues are gone. They seem to be resolved now on my end using SDGecko but i only tested a couple of titles. Try this, I compiled catsfc (a port of SNES9x 1.43 for libretro) with Retroarch 1.0.0.1. This should be fast enough to emulate most of games at full speed. Worked for me. The audio stuttering in this emulator is just quite annoying. The audio stuttering is caused by NO FRAME SKIP support in retroarch. To my test, The speed is great (framerate keeps 59.94 for most games); 32MB ROM such as Mother 3 would not run; No buttons remapping available.

Toaplan core update
With cutting more unnecessary codes, I made Toaplan slimmer and 2 mores games(Battle Garegga & Knuckle Bash 2) could run on Gamecube now.
This core runs really well on Gamecube. I love Toaplan shooting games~~

It's slow because the backing store (SDGecko) holding the loaded ROM file needs to block the CPU to get data out and into a memory cache for the rest of the emulator to read. If we had a spare 32MB to fully load the ROM files into I'm sure it'd be a lot faster. (If it's not already using ARAM + SDG...

The VBA-next core still crashes after selecting any game. They should remove that core since it does not work at all.
