Re: Gamecube battery keeps dying
No, it shouldn't be anywhere near the part of the board that the mod is installed to. Maybe it's just a coincidence and more related to age than the install job.

Re: Gamecube battery keeps dying
I've been using it for days now and it hasn't lost the settings yet since I repaired resistor R16. My problem was exactly like yours too, I think the reason that it would take nearly a day for it to loose the settings even though the battery wasn't connected to the IPL chip at all was maybe due to t...

Re: Gamecube battery keeps dying
I have the same issue after installing a GCdual and a Megadrive v1 plus WKF recently, just haven't had the time to look into it yet though so I can't really help. At least now I know that it more than likely has something to do with the GCdual install if you're having the same issue, I wasn't sure i...

eh, cool. In that case I'll definitely make point of watching it.
Although I haven't done any modding for a while I find this interesting because it was something that I tried in the past with no joy.
No pressure though, take your time mate.

Oh, my bad. I was referring to your posts in this thread:

...but maybe I read too much into them although it wouldn't have surprised me if you had solved it.

Re: Megadrive v6 + WODE
Since you have the DVD port intact what would happen if you put the DVD drive in and wire a switch from the power wire going to the V6 (and WODE in your case)? Would it let you use both DVD/WODE not at the same time of course but would it cause a conflict. Like say if I had the same setup but with ...

Re: Using a PAL GameCube with NTSC games and RGB via SCART?
SNES and N64 would look like ass on a 70" TV, not to mention input lag and that's if the TV even accepts a 240p YPBPR signal. mega has a fair point about the Gamecube though... If you don't want to shell out for the expensive component cable then build the component cable replacement board that...

Re: Using a PAL GameCube with NTSC games and RGB via SCART?
Now the question is if we can use the same SCART cable for the NTSC SNES, modded NTSC N64, and PAL GameCube. http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/official-pal-gamecube-rgb-cable-on-ntsc-consoles/ http://nfggames.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3203.0 Ideally no, but you might get away with it. It just depends on i...

You wouldn't think it was the same board
Maybe you could reflow those pins at the top, the joints look dry.

Re: Need Help fixing my Broken Component Cable / Useing MX C
I'm glad you took this job on mega. I was tempted for a little while to take it on for some strange reason. Don't know what I must of been thinking, must of been for the challenge or something or I just hate myself :| It was the resistor at C2 that made me hold back. It made me wonder if there might...

OUCH! What did you or the previous owner do to that poor thing?

Re: Wasp and rgb problem
The SRAM is non-volatile (powered by the battery), it holds all the settings like default language, sound mode, vertical and horizontal video offset, wavebird IDs etc... It also stores if 60Hz (for PAL) or Progressive (for NTSC) modes were previously used so games know to ask about them without nee...

That's some quality soldering, where you connected the 2 FCC cables together
Most people including myself would probably end up melting both FCC's trying that.

Re: My WODE Gamecube Original
I see what you mean now. I never thought of separating the LCD and joystick from the board. It probably would have made things a lot easier if I had thought of that but in the end I'm happy with the end result even though it made fitting it very awkward for me  I used every GND wire because in...

The info about my problems getting Flat-mode to work are in the thread that you linked to on your first post. I saw the video but it's been a long time since I had problems with mine so I can't remember unfortunately. That was the first place that I thought to put the LCD board too but the only prob...

Re: My WODE Gamecube Original
I also had problems getting Flat-mode to work. I ended up shorting the 150 ohm resitor in series with the POT and then turning the POT way down to between 40-90 ohms in the end. Although I didn't like taking the POT down that low I couldn't get it to work any other way. It could have been caused by ...

Re: My WODE Gamecube Original
Nice work. It will be interesting to see where you put the rest of it. Fitting a WODE inside a GC is not the easiest task as there is not much room to play around with. As far as I remember the ripping feature will not work on the GC. If you need any tips with fitting the LCD board then let me know....

I never realized that the MEGA3 fitted so well into the back panel of an Icedcube case. Saves a lot of work chopping out a stock panel.siphoned wrote:I keep cutting holes in my MEGA IceCube. I think I like it this way.

Congrats to everyone that won
Even though I wasn't lucky this time participating was still nice diversion from the norm and not to mention a good cause and a free XenoCG is never a bad thing
hmm, "MEGA X", I wonder what it could be?

Not posted for a while but I've still been lurking in the shadows
Just thought I'd drop by and join the fun and donate something anyway.
I am very intrigued to find out what the "mega mystery mod surprise" is going to be by the way.

Re: Mini Guide - How to install megalomaniac's MEGAudio boar
I'm no expert but I can't see why using digital audio would add any lag at all because: 1. If what you say is true and it does slow down the system by 100ms then control input would also be affected by the 100ms slowdown, after all it is part of the system also. This means that effectively there wou...

Not sure if you were aware but since megalomaniac found a way to autoload/autoboot swiss on the WKF, the pin29 switch became obsolete.

Re: 240p for Game Boy Player
In all the research I've done, it seems the GC hardware can output 240p, but there absolutely no games released that offer that signal output. I can think of at least 2 releases, although officially emulated that output in 240p: Megaman X collection Zelda and Zelda II on the Zelda collectors editio...
