Re: Optimised 50hz-only PAL games?

I don't have the latest FW on my GC plug, but I wish SWISS will be able to support 720i or even 1080i via HDMI with most of the games soon. I would plotz if that ever happens! Is the GCVideo hardware powerful enough to do video upscaling? Deinterlacing 480i to 480p is one thing, but upsca...

Re: Constant Damaged Virtual Memory Card

I was having the same problems, constantly getting corrupted virtual memory cards when I was using a 2GB Toshiba SDSC card in SD2SP2. All problems went away after changing to a Transcend 16GB SDHC card. Maybe it's coincidental that you and I had SD2SP2 issues with Toshiba cards, but I think it doesn...

Re: Wii Output

I went through three different Wii2HDMI adapters from different sellers on AliExpress, all roughly had the same results. You can try to drop the resolution to 480i and see if the image gets cleaner. However, the only real solution I found is to get good component cables, as mentioned by Papy.G above...

Re: How to get proper EDTV output off Wii games in 2020?

I have been spending a lot of time with my Wii since the HD Retrovision component cables arrived last Friday. I have never seen the video output from the Wii to crisp, sharp, and colorful! Looks absolutely gorgeous with none of the softness and ghost lines seen in the Wii2HDMI adapter. The RetroTink...

Re: Greetings from Malaysia!

Most of the pre-7th gen consoles imported in Malaysia are NTSC-U units. Most Wii consoles imported in Malaysia are sourced from either Australia or Korea, and Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles are a mix of consoles from US or Singapore. While our TVs support NTSC, PAL, and SECAM, they do not have SCART...

Re: How to get proper EDTV output off Wii games in 2020?

If my understanding is good, it's the official Wii SDK that mess up with pixel data in 480p, so that every one inhérits a part of the previous's data. If you have noticeably much noisy output in 480p than in 480i, your cable may be bad. Also, the Wii has the reputation to have weak outputs, some mo...

Thought it was all by emu_kidid since Swiss is on his Github.

I apologize if I had offended you, it was not intentional.

Re: Hello

Cool!

I am new to the GameCube myself :)

I didn't bother with the fan upgrade or changing the LED on my GC though. Only installed GCLoader, SD2SP2, and replaced the battery.

Re: Greetings from Malaysia!

Sony is the only one to officially release their consoles in Malaysia, the first being the PS2. All other consoles (including current Nintendo and Microsoft consoles) are grey imports. All TVs sold here are fully compatible with NTSC, PAL, and SECAM, even though PAL is the official broadcast standar...

Re: Virtual Memory Card errors

SDSC uses byte addressing and thus goes through a slightly different code path so it's possible there's an issue somewhere since hardly anyone out there is still using SDSC + Virtual Memory Cards. Thanks for the explanation - at least I know this is definitely factual since it's coming from you :)

Re: Virtual Memory Card errors

It is still very curious though, since even low speed cards shouldn't have issues given that the data bus on the Serial port shouldn't be fast anyway. And as I mentioned, it was able to load ISOs from SD2SP2 without any problems. This does raise a case about compatibility, is SDHC the minimum requir...

Re: How to get proper EDTV output off Wii games in 2020?

I always thought the Wii homebrew community was very active... is this 480i issue a hardware constraint then?

I have been through two Wii consoles (a Korean unit, and my current Australian unit), and 480p always produced noisy output, while 480i is clean.

Re: Virtual Memory Card errors

I did the following steps 1. Created new RAW files with Dolphin 2. Transferred the RAW files to my 2GB low speed card, no go, errors still recur 3. Transferred the RAW files to a 16GB SDHC card, the errors have gone away I have tested with the following Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (NTSC-U) and ...

Re: Virtual Memory Card errors

Additional info... Swiss is loaded using the boot.iso from the GCLoader folder in the swiss_r1047 package, and I took swiss_r1047.dol from the DOL folder and renamed it as igr.dol in the root of the SD card.

Re: Virtual Memory Card errors

The RAW files as extracted from the SD card used in SD2SP2 can be downloaded from https://mega.nz/file/5iYzhQBa#JLLt5Yhnf ... LptakS11L4

I don't have a before though, although I can delete the current RAW files and generate new ones and see what happens.

Re: Wii U in 2018

I originally bought my Wii U (in December 2020) simply to play GameCube games via Nintendont, but I was never happy with the console's poor upscaling capabilities. Ultimately decided to actually get a real GameCube instead.

Re: How to get proper EDTV output off Wii games in 2020?

Would love to see more development on this. Currently forced to run my Wii in 480i, as 480p causes a lot of diagonal ghost lines to appear on screen. I am still waiting for my HD Retrovision component cables to arrive, hopefully it's better compared to the no-brand made in China Wii2HDMI adapter I h...

Virtual Memory Card errors

I am not sure which part of the forum this topic is supposed to go. Let me know if this is the wrong area. I am having a lot of problems with the virtual memory cards stored in my SD2SP2, as I regularly get the 'Memory card is damaged' error from games. Below are some of the troubleshooting steps I ...

I am still learning the ins and outs of the console, so I hope the forum will be able to help me with some of the teethin...
