Re: SoftMod - New Action Reply Disc
The newer version of the Action Replay discs will automatically boot into the SD Media Launcher menu if an SD Gecko is detected in either of the memory card slots, and the GC2SD should function as an SD Gecko, so you just need an older standard SD card (size of 2GB or less; the Action Replay discs ...

Re: Game Boy Interface
As-is, a GBPlayer, as a GBA, can run little programs, such as additionnal players' or Minigames off GC games (Animal crossing, chocobos, Sega chao…) or even emulators if small enough with the rom , connected to a source via the link cable. The GBPlayer can be feed from the GC via an internal link c...

Re: Cleanrip seems to have destroyed my memory stick
It was a USB flash drive rather than an SD card. Brand new "SanDisk Ultra 128GB USB Flash Drive" so from a trusted company too. Tried formatting it and other shenanigans but it's 100% totally dead I'm afraid. Even programs that can recognise something is plugged in will freeze when I tell...

Re: In need of someone for HDMI modding
I know this is an old post, but if you have a DOL-001, you could use something like a CARBY instead. It just plugs into the digital out and converts the GCN's raw digital output into a HDMI-compatible Enhanced-DVI.

Re: Save file corruption with Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
Doesn't seem corrupt to me. Anything wrong with the time played is either you miscounting or a genuine game bug. The game autosaves to the right files. Corruption would mangle file checksums and possibly even filesystem data and all that. As for the Chao Garden, each card has one save file by design...
Re: Nkit
"My personal experience with a sample size of one user and only 10% of the Redump library obviously trumps the advice of the developers of Swiss! " It's not easy getting the Gamecube to run games from an unintended storage device, given that there isn't the convenience of a low level OS to...

Re: Complete noob tries to set up Swiss and gbi...
If you ever want to save some space for more games on your GC Loader card, Nkit is the best scrubber around - it looks complicated and has a few settings to set, but it's the only thing you should be using if you want to scrub Gamecube discs. (Just remember not to use the Dolphin-only format!)

Re: Pokémon Colosseum: Activate E-Card Shadow Pokémon Trainers (GCN/WIIRD/PAL)
For anyone playing an ISO on Wii who ends up frustrated at both Nintendont and Swiss for not working quite right, try DIOS-MIOS. While it's old dusty clunky deprecated legacy stuff, it runs Colosseum cleanly and works with these codes, provided you remember not to put é in the folder name - try miss...

Re: Game Boy Interface
Because it doesn't natively support SD cards. You need to use an exploit. Follow these instructions (SDload can be replaced with Swiss), or find the later version with SD Media Launcher functionality. This brings me to my problem. When I try to follow these instructions, I run into an issue. When I...

Re: SDLoad (Slot A and B)
Doesn't Swiss support everything that SDLoad did but better? I mean, I might be wrong, my extent of using Swiss is "shaking my head in mild frustration that Nintendont doesn't yet support 576p forcing for 50hz only PAL games" but doesn't it support .dol loading, .iso loading, and pretty mu...

Re: GBA Link Cable Dumper
I know this is an older post and I'm probably a total noob but, I'm having trouble getting the homebrew channel to read the app so I can use it. I renamed the file marked as the Wii version to "boot.dol" and put the unextracted folder from GitHub in the "apps" folder of my SD ca...

Re: Memory Card Problem
I had a similar problem that happened while running Swiss. I don't know if it was actually that build of Swiss' fault, or just some cosmic ray stuff. (I'm fairly certain it wasn't Crystal Chronicles PAL's fault) But I keep regular backups, so I don't have a raw dump for forensics. Still, good on you...

Loading Cheats from GCI Files?
I'm posting this because while I believe that this isn't a Swiss feature as of right now, I don't know for sure. My setup is somewhat unique in that I only boot one game with Swiss - the PAL version of Crystal Chronicles, for 576p support. I also do it from a Wii with WiiPower's Swiss Booter. Since ...

Re: GBA Link Cable Dumper
This is a nice tool. I did notice that, one time, the screen flickered like crazy. (Using a CRT at PAL60) And I needed to restart the app (and hard power off my Wii) to get it working. But once I started it up again, it worked like a dream, dumping FireRed, it's save, and the system BIOS. Unfortunat...

Re: Devolution - Gamecube loader for Wii/Wii U updated to r234
Booting with a different IOS will not enable a game that doesn't support SDHC to use it. The offset value for reads/writes for non-SDHC cards is specified in bytes while SDHC cards use sectors. This value is calculated by the game's code and not the IOS, so a non-SDHC game doesn't know how to use s...

Re: Devolution - Gamecube loader for Wii/Wii U updated to r234
they didn't even know how to talk to the new wiimotes until the Dolphin devs told them. Lawl, ok then... Last question before I retire for the night - is there anyway to run Devolution off of a USB drive on a Wii U without the console nagging you to format the USB drive? I don't want to use a large...
