Re: PicoBoot - IPL replacement modchip using Raspberry Pi Pico
Awesome work! So is it now possible to ''copy'' the offical boot.ipl and mod it to force 640x480 progressive scan (love that menu)? And thus never have the display flicker due to resolution changes? Gamecube IPL>SWISS>GAME all 480p?

This is really interesting, would be cool if it makes it into the offical builds.

Re: Do Gamecubes (DOL-001) without Digital AV exist?
Hmmm, quite weird. It may be a repaired/opened unit with a dol 001 outer (lower) casing with dol 101 backplate and innards. If the casing has a hole for the serial port 2, but no actual connector from the motherboard that may very well be the case and thus being a gamecube that has been disassembled...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
The 54 Mhz clock from pin 2 may cause interference, but megalomaniac is pretty knowledgeable and has been developing for quite some time now. On top of that it is a known issue and I believe he said it was due to the manufacturings standard not being up to par...multiple times ao I doubt his design ...

Those are looking very nice, good job. I already have a megadrive v3and v5 so it is no pressing matter for me to test them immediately. Maybe somewhere in the future.

Re: Show off your Cube!
I thought about that, but the official jewel had a similar pose of samus. On top of that, I have actually painted a complementary controller yellow bottom orange top with orange plug, with the red screw attack logo above the start button.

Re: Show off your Cube!
Those lights look very cool; not to in your face but not tucked away either. Was doing a little paint project, so I painted some cubes. Wanted to make it look as stock as possible, so what is grey in the original colours remains grey. Most of them had faded colours so now they look like new again. T...

Re: New wavebird clone pops up on ebay
Yes the pcb might give troubles bit it might be easily resolved (if it only rumble and/or batterie placement) knowing that the buttons are all already in the right place.
Might jump on this in a few weeks and if I do I'll let you guys know.

New wavebird clone pops up on ebay
So remember those cheap-ass knock off gamecube controllers? Apparently there are now also wavebird clones, which ironically supports rumble! https://sc02.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1ViXALpXXXXbgXVXXq6xXFXXX7/2-4G-Wireless-For-Nintendo-Game-Cube.jpg_220x220.jpg I have been waiting for a controller with the exa...

Re: GCp Worklog - MiseriesChild's GameCube Proto Ver. 1
Nice worklog and it is looking very good for your first portable; I particularly like how you absorbed the Gamecube controller in there with the original layout. One thing though; with the disc drive, isn't it a little big? Did you consider using a drive replcement such as the wasp fusion? Either wa...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
Yes I was going off the zelda master quests resolution which notes 640x480 so I thought the same was true for the collectors edition ocarina of time. Though that could be for menus onlyExtrems wrote:The resolution in the wiki is the resolution before scaling. It'd be useless data otherwise.

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
Ah, fair enough Unseen. Though if it would be manually toggled (and by default it would be 720x480, instead of auto-detecting) would it still have lower compatibility? Is it compatibility on a game per game basis or does it have something to do with the software code? Anyway, I understand and thanks...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
That would result in a non-standard video timing though - real 640x480 needs a different pixel clock. Ah so it wouldn't be as easy as to flag them as inactive. Ocarina of Time outputs a 704x240 image, check the OSD - it should still have small black bars. =) So I was wrong there. Truth is, I don't ...

Ah, Wii support was only a matter of time :), very nice work indeed. On another note, I do have a feature request regarding gcvideo. Re: Change Games Video Output Resolution?
That's what I feared.
So how would resolution be specified in a hexeditor in order to track it down? Or would it require a different method and if so, what may that be? I'm a little new to hacking so anyone knows something to point me in the right direction? What would I need to learn?
